Critical Incident Stress Management
Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) supports people who have survived traumatic events. CISM is comprised of numerous crisis response components, each of which is designed to address a distinct phase of crisis. This crisis intervention service offers powerful crisis support for individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.
Benefits
- Decrease the negative impact of the critical incident
- Normalize instinctive reactions to the incident
- Encourage the natural trauma recovery process
- Restore the person/group’s adaptive functioning skills
- Determine the need for further supportive services or therapy
Duration: This depends on the nature of the critical event and the number of participants involved. Ember of Hope cannot pre-determine the length of time necessary until we consult with a lead in the community about the event.
